Héctor Pérez Martínez was a Mexican historian, journalist, and politician born on March 21, 1906, in San Francisco de Campeche. He studied dentistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico but did not pursue a career in dentistry. Throughout his political career, he served as a federal deputy, was the governor of Campeche from 1939 to 1943, and held the position of Secretary of the Interior under President Miguel Alemán Valdés. He passed away on February 12, 1948, in Veracruz.
