Hassan Abshir Farah (1945 - 2020) was a Somali politician who served as the Prime Minister in Somalia's first transitional government in 2001. Prior to that, he held the position of Mayor of Mogadishu during the military government that collapsed in 1991. His political career was significant during times of considerable change in Somalia's governance.
