Harutsuna Sasaki was a Japanese waka poet and scholar born on February 20, 1909, in Tokyo. He graduated from the Tokyo Imperial University in 1935 and later became the editor responsible for the literary publication 'Kokoro no Hana.' He specialized in medieval waka, particularly the Tamayura Waka Collection and the Fuga Waka Collection. Harutsuna passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 1959, due to a fall accident. His influence continued through his family, with a lineage of poets including his son Sakikazu Sasaki.
