Haruo Katō was a professional baseball player from Gifu Prefecture, Japan, born on March 25, 1917. He played as an outfielder and later changed his name to Kato Hisayuki. Katō had a notable family background in baseball; his younger brother Saburo Katō was a famous catcher who died in combat during World War II, and another brother, Masaichi Katō, played as an infielder for Kintetsu. Katō's career and contributions to Japanese baseball are remembered despite his early death on February 27, 1961.
