Harry Lee Morrison (1932–2002) was an American theoretical physicist known for his significant contributions in statistical mechanics. He was the first African American faculty member in physics at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1972, he achieved recognition for demonstrating the absence of long-range order in two-dimensional quantum systems due to continuous symmetry breaking. Additionally, he was a founding member of the National Society of Black Physicists, contributing to the representation and advancement of minority physicists in the field.
