Harold Leroy Enarson (1919–2006) was the 9th President of Ohio State University, previously the first President of Cleveland State University (1966-1972). He is known for firing Ohio State football coach Woody Hayes after an incident involving a player. Despite this, his tenure saw significant achievements, including two Heisman Trophies for Archie Griffin and a Nobel Prize for Paul Flory. Enarson's leadership strengthened Ohio State’s programs and reputation, as noted by his successor Karen Holbrook.
