Harold D. Foster was a Canadian geographer and geomorphologist born on January 9, 1943. He was a faculty member in the Department of Geography at the University of Victoria from 1967 until his retirement in 2008. Over his career, Foster made significant contributions to the fields of disaster planning and medical geography, authoring or editing more than 400 publications. He passed away on August 15, 2009, leaving behind a legacy in academic geography.
