Hans Jørgen Thorvald Christensen (1924–1983) was a prominent Danish-born American master silversmith, metalsmith, jeweler, designer, and educator known for his significant contributions to handcrafted silver design in the U.S. during the latter half of the 20th century. He was a long-time educator at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he held the Charlotte Fredericks Mowris Professorship in Contemporary Crafts. Acknowledged for his achievements, he was honored as a Fellow of the American Craft Council in 1979. Additionally, the Society of American Silversmiths established an award in his name.
