Hanaoka Daigaku (February 6, 1909 - January 29, 1988) was a Japanese author known for his children's literature and fairy tales, as well as a novelist. Besides his literary contributions, he was also a Buddhist monk with the name Daigaku and served as the head priest of Jōgei Temple. He held the title of professor emeritus at Kyoto Women's University, contributing significantly to Japanese children's literature.
