Hachiro Maekawa was a notable Japanese baseball player, active in the early to mid-20th century. He played for the Yomiuri Giants, contributing to their first championship in 1936. After serving in World War II, he played for the Hankyu Braves from 1946 to 1949, achieving a record of 21–23 with a 3.34 ERA. Later, he became the head of scouting for the Giants from 1967 to 1972, retiring from management at the age of 59. His legacy includes both his playing career and his contributions to scouting in Japanese baseball.
