He took over this role on June 1, 2021, from Alapan Bandyopadhyay. Prior to that, he was entrusted the responsibilities when Bandyopadhyay was transferred from the position of District Magistrate of North 24 Parganas. H. K. Dwivedi has been actively engaged in public service and has held various positions in the West Bengal government.
