Howard George Henry Kearns (13 May 1902 – July 1986) was an influential researcher in entomology, notably contributing to the design of spraying equipment during and after World War II. He dedicated a significant part of his career to the University of Bristol, where he served as a long-time researcher and the Deputy Director of the Long Ashton Research Station. His expertise combined knowledge of entomology and engineering, which was crucial for advancements in agricultural practices. Kearns was honored with an Honorary Degree (Doctor of Science) by the University of Bath in 1967.
