Gyöngyi Móricz was a Hungarian memoir writer born on February 8, 1911, in Budapest. She was the daughter of Zsigmond Móricz and Eugénia Margit Holics, and the wife of poet Andor Simon. Gyöngyi graduated from the university of economics and learned the bookbinding trade. She co-owned a bookbinding shop in Budapest and worked on her father's journal. She was fluent in five languages and is known for having translated Spanish prose. She passed away on January 5, 1979, in Budapest.
