Grișa Gherghei, born Hers Segal, was a Romanian writer of Jewish origin born on November 30, 1936. He began his literary career in 1956 with a debut in 'Viața nouă.' Gherghei co-founded the cultural magazine 'Pagini Dunărene' in 1960 and published poetry in prominent literary journals. His first book was released in 1968. He contributed to the newspaper ZIUA in the mid-1990s and edited 'Ziua Artelor.' He received the 'Opera Omnia' award in 2005 and passed away on October 28, 2014.
