Gregory L. Fenves is an American engineer and academic, born on March 1, 1957. He is the 21st president of Emory University and previously served as the President of the University of Texas at Austin from 2015 to 2020. Elected as a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2014, Fenves is recognized for his contributions to computational modeling, the development of open source software for earthquake engineering analysis, and his leadership in academia.
