Gregorio García Antonio, known as 'Goyo', was a prominent Spanish politician, blacksmith, and farmer born on December 24, 1915, in Sinlabajos, Spain. A member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), he served as the mayor of his hometown from 1979 until 2007, making him one of the longest-serving mayors in Spain at the time. He was also a procurador in the Castile and León Courts and a provincial deputy for Ávila. Goyo was passionate about music and played the lute. He passed away on January 9, 2008, during a public event.
