General Gopal Gurunath Bewoor was an officer in the Indian Army who served as the 9th Chief of Army Staff. He made significant contributions during World War II, the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, and the 1971 war. After Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw's term ended, Bewoor took over as the Chief of Army Staff. He was commissioned on July 15, 1937, and after retirement, he was appointed as the Ambassador to Denmark, serving until 1979.
