Göksun Çavdar was a prominent Turkish clarinet virtuoso born in Vernon. After moving to Turkey at age 11, he studied clarinet under Tülay Örser and composition under Kamil Özler. He played not only Bb clarinet but also alto and soprano saxophones. Over the years, Çavdar significantly contributed to Turkish pop music, collaborating with numerous leading artists and playing in countless albums and performances. He has been a member of the State Modern Folk Music Ensemble for 23 years and also participates in various music projects while composing for films, series, and documentaries.
