Glynis Penny (née Goodburn) is a former British long-distance runner born on January 28, 1951. She represented England five times at the Cross Country World Championships, finishing as high as 16th in 1976. At the 1978 European Athletics Championships, she placed 13th in the 3000 m event. Her notable marathon performances include placing third in the 1983 London Marathon and winning races like the Roma – Ostia and the Vienna Spring Marathon in 1988. She was a champion in cross country and 3000 m events during her athletic career, competing for the Cambridge Harriers.
