Sir Glenn Lester Torpy, born on July 27, 1953, is a retired British Royal Air Force officer. He was a fast jet pilot in the late 1970s and 1980s and served in the Gulf War before moving to senior leadership roles. Torpy was the commander of air operations in Telic (British operations in Iraq) and served as Chief of the Air Staff of the Royal Air Force from 2006 to 2009. During his tenure, he hosted the largest airshow for the RAF in two decades and advocated for consolidating all British airpower under the Royal Air Force.
