Gisella Azzi was an Italian poetess and writer, born on April 23, 1912, in Como, Italy. Although she graduated in piano and taught it, she dedicated much of her life to language and literature, creating works in Lombard. Azzi published several poetry anthologies and collaborated with local newspapers, television, and radio. She was the founder and president of the Gruppo Letterario Àcàrya and the La Famiglia Comasca association. In 1995, she received Como's highest honor, the Abbondino d'oro, recognizing her contributions to literature and culture.
