Gisela Bergsträsser was a German art historian, born on May 11, 1911, in Greifswald. She was the daughter of Ludwig Bergsträsser. Bergsträsser served as the head of the Graphic Collection at the Hessian State Museum in Darmstadt from 1950 until her retirement in 1976. Her contributions to art history and her leadership in the museum developed her reputation in the field. She passed away on April 12, 2003, in Darmstadt.
