Giridhar Gamang, born on April 8, 1943, is an Indian politician associated with the Indian National Congress. He served as the Chief Minister of Odisha from February to December 1999. First elected to the Lok Sabha in 1972 from Koraput, he had a long political career with multiple re-elections until 2004. His tenure included pivotal moments like voting against the BJP government in 1998, which led to fresh elections. He briefly aligned with the BJP in 2015, later joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi in 2023 after leaving BJP.
