Giovanni Felisati was an Italian partisan born in Mestre on June 24, 1909. Known as 'il moro', he worked as a laborer at the Montevecchio factory in Marghera. Arrested on January 8, 1944, he became one of thirteen prisoners executed in retaliation for an attack on the GNR headquarters at Ca' Giustinian. A battalion commanded by Erminio Ferretto was named after him, and a street in Mestre is dedicated to his memory. His brother was the painter Vittorio Felisati.
