Gil Chaverri Rodríguez was a prominent Costa Rican chemist and physicist known for creating an innovative arrangement of the periodic table of chemical elements. Born on March 15, 1921, in Heredia, Costa Rica, he published his version in 1952 in the Journal of Chemical Education. This arrangement, which was based on the electronic structure of each element, became widely adopted for educational purposes in Costa Rican schools. Chaverri passed away on May 27, 2005, in San José, Costa Rica.
