Germanos Chaviaropoulos, born on January 1, 1931, in Istanbul, was a notable cleric of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Constantinople. He served as the titular metropolitan of Tranupolis from 1987 until his passing on April 12, 2022. Germanos was ordained as a deacon on January 21, 1967, and became a presbyter on January 12, 1973. He was consecrated as a bishop shortly after on January 14, 1973, and held the position of Bishop of Tralles until 1987. He also chaired the committee on pastoral care at the Patriarchate.
