Gerhard Förster (December 28, 1933 – September 10, 1983) was a German historian known for his work on German military policy and warfare during and before World War II. He taught at the Military History Institute of the GDR in Potsdam and was part of the collective that authored the comprehensive multi-volume work on Germany in World War II.
