After earning her degree in archaeology, she worked at Tromsø Museum from the 1960s, participating in significant excavations. Notably, she was involved in the first professional investigation of the northern Norwegian farm mounds and contributed to groundbreaking discoveries at Borg in Lofoten, which led to the establishment of a visitor center for the findings.
