Gerd Sievers was a German musicologist and publishing editor, born in 1915 and deceased on March 19, 1999. He is well-known for his research on Max Reger and for co-editing the sixth edition of the Köchel catalogue, which includes significant updates on Mozart's works compared to earlier editions. Sievers provided new insights into the chronology of Mozart's compositions and the connections between individual pieces. From 1961 until his passing, he was a member of the board of the Max Reger Institute.
