Gérard Pichaureau was a prominent French trombonist and composer, born on September 14, 1916, in Chinon and passed away on July 17, 2002, in Ballan-Miré. He served as a soloist with the Garde républicaine and the Société des concerts du Conservatoire. Pichaureau was also a professor of trombone at the Paris Conservatoire from 1960 to 1982, succeeding André Lafosse. His contributions extended to the development of the renowned brass instrument brand Antoine Courtois.
