Georgis Kostoprav was a Greek poet, writer, novelist, and playwright born in 1903 in Mali Yanisol, Russia. Coming from a farming family, he began writing poetry at the age of seven, often in the Greek Rumelian dialect, influenced by Russian poet Nikitin. He played a leading role in establishing the 'Union of Talented Greek Writers' in 1932, which grew to over 30 members by 1937. Kostoprav is regarded as an innovative creator and the founder of Ukrainian Greek literature, passing away prematurely in 1938.
