Georgia Chenevix-Trench, born on February 8, 1959, is an Australian cancer researcher specializing in the genetic predispositions to cancer. Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, she completed her BSc(Hons) in genetics at Trinity College in Ireland in 1980 and earned her PhD in human genetics from the Medical College of Virginia in 1985. After her post-doctoral work, she relocated to Australia in 1989 and currently leads a cancer genetics lab at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. She has published over 400 papers and received multiple honors, including election to the Australian Academy of Science in 2014.
