Geoffrey William Griffin OBE was a prominent educator and the founding director of Starehe Boys' Centre and School in Kenya, established in November 1959. He played a crucial role in the development of youth services in Kenya, also becoming the founding director of the National Youth Service from 1964 to 1988. Besides his educational contributions, Griffin was an influential member of Kenya's Central Probation Commission, appointed by President Daniel arap Moi. He dedicated his life to improving the lives of young Kenyans through education and public service until his death in 2005.
