Gegham Levon Sevan (Gegham Svachyan) was an Armenian prose writer and literary scholar born on January 8, 1926, in Istanbul, Turkey. He passed away on May 8, 1991, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR. Sevan earned a Doctor of Philological Sciences degree in 1983 and became a member of the Union of Soviet Writers in 1963. He was also a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union starting in 1969. His contributions to Armenian literature and scholarship had a significant impact on the cultural landscape of the time.
