Geertrui Daem (born April 29, 1952, in Aalst) is a Belgian writer, visual artist, actress, and storyteller. She writes prose and theater. Daem debuted in 1992 with 'Boniface', which won a debut award. Her notable works include 'De meisjeskamer', 'Een vader voor Elizabeth', 'Koud', and 'Het Verdeelde Huis'. Her stories often focus on people who expected more from life than they received. Daem occupies a unique and contemporary position within the tradition of the social novel in Flanders. She has received several literary awards.
