Geert Frederik Eijgelaar was a Dutch politician born on August 22, 1927, in Ljouwert. He was a member of the ARP party, later joining the CDA. Eijgelaar managed a cooperative middle class association before founding a trading and wholesale business in September 1974. He was active in local politics, serving on the city council of Ljouwert from 1970 and as an alderman from 1974. He became acting mayor of Hinnaarderadiel in August 1981 and was appointed mayor of Lemsterlân in April 1984, a position he held until his retirement in September 1992.
