Gary Dale Batton, born on December 15, 1966, is an influential tribal administrator and politician, currently serving as the 47th Chief of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He stepped into leadership on April 28, 2014, after Chief Gregory E. Pyle's retirement. Batton achieved a notable electoral success in July 2015, securing 86.5% of the vote and was elected in his own right. He was re-elected unopposed for a second term in 2019 and again for a third term in 2023, demonstrating his strong support within the Choctaw community.
