Gaó Gurgel, born Odmar Amaral Gurgel on February 12, 1909, in Salto, was a Brazilian maestro, arranger, composer, and pianist. His artistic name, Gaó, was derived from the reverse initials of his name. He served as the artistic director at Columbia Records, and his orchestra, Orquestra Colbaz, was the first to record 'Tico-tico no Fubá' composed by Zequinha de Abreu. Gurgel began his radio career in 1926 at Rádio Educadora Paulista.
