Fumiko Matsuda was a Japanese journalist born on March 19, 1905. She graduated from Baika Women's University and later completed her studies at Kyushu Imperial University in 1930. Matsuda began her career at Chuo Koronsha, where she edited the magazine 'Fujin Koron'. In 1944, she joined Mainichi Shimbun as a reporter for 'Sunday Mainichi'. After leaving the newspaper in 1961, she served on the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Labour's Women's and Youth Bureau from 1966 to 1975 and became the chairperson of Elizabeth Sanders Home from 1980 to 1993.
