Frits Böttcher, born Carl Johan Friedrich Böttcher on October 17, 1915, in Rotterdam, was a Dutch chemist. He is known for being a founding and honorary member of the Club of Rome. Later in his career, Böttcher became notable for his stance against human-caused climate change and the greenhouse effect, which sparked considerable debate within the scientific and environmental communities. He passed away on November 23, 2008, in The Hague.
