Friedrich Flohr was a German mathematician born on February 20, 1927, in Wolfenbüttel. He studied at TU Braunschweig and the University of Freiburg, where he passed his state examination in 1951 and worked as a research assistant until 1955. After teaching in Niedersachsen, he became an assistant at TH Karlsruhe and earned his doctorate under Martin Barner in 1959. He held various academic positions at the University of Freiburg from 1963 onwards and co-authored a two-volume textbook on analysis with Barner.
