Friedbert Syhre (October 15, 1938 – June 12, 2008) was a German craftsmanship master and instrument maker, known since the 1960s for his replicas of historical instruments in the GDR. He notably built a Reiche-Horn in 1984, inspired by the portrait of trumpet virtuoso Gottfried Reiche, for Ludwig Güttler. Syhre also restored eight Dresden court trumpets made of silver in 1753, which were played at the Heinrich Schütz Festival in 1985, resonating like in electoral times. He was buried in the Leipzig South Cemetery.
