Fred A. Julsing was a Dutch cartoonist born on March 12, 1942, in The Hague. He worked for many years at Toonder Studios, where he created illustrations for the comic strip Heer Bommel by Marten Toonder for over six years. Later, he began publishing comic stories under his own name. After surviving a plane crash in Faro, Portugal, in 1992, Julsing relocated to California to restart his career as an artist.
