Fred Espenak is a retired American astrophysicist known for his work in eclipse predictions. His fascination with astronomy began at an early age, and he later earned a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree from the University of Toledo. Espenak published numerous standard references on solar and lunar eclipses and has witnessed over 20 eclipses. He has contributed to important astronomical research and served on the space shuttle Discovery's atmospheric experiment. He is often referred to as 'Mr. Eclipse' and has made images published in renowned journals.
