Francis Manning Marlborough Pryor is an English archaeologist born on January 13, 1945. He specializes in the study of the Bronze Age and Iron Age in Britain, best known for his discovery and excavation of Flag Fen, a significant archaeological site near Peterborough. He has appeared frequently on the Channel 4 series Time Team. Pryor was born into the Burke aristocratic landowner family, studied at Eton College, and went on to study archaeology at Trinity College, Cambridge. Now retired from full-time field archaeology, he continues to write and appear on television.
