Fons Schobbers, born on September 27, 1947, in Venlo, is a Dutch visual artist known for his sculptures. He graduated in 1971 from the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven. Initially working as a product designer, he transitioned to a full-time artist in 1974 to pursue his passion for art. Schobbers' early work included figurative pieces like torsos and portraits, but he gradually moved towards more abstract and larger sculptures. He has worked with various materials including marble, polyester, wood, bronze, and steel, and has also taught sculpting at the Free Academy in Venlo for over 25 years.
