Fiep Westendorp, born Sophia Maria Westendorp, was a renowned Dutch illustrator known for her long collaboration with author Annie M. G. Schmidt. She became popular for her illustrations in the series Jip and Janneke, which were published in Het Parool between 1953 and 1957. Her work has influenced three generations of Dutch children and is featured on a wide range of products sold by the HEMA department store chain. In 2007, the University of Amsterdam established an illustration chair in her honor.
