Ferenc Paragi was a Hungarian javelin thrower born on August 21, 1953, in Budapest. He competed internationally in the late 1970s, debuting at the 1976 Olympics but fell short of the qualification mark. He set a world record of 96.72 m in 1980, improving on his compatriot Miklós Németh's record. Although he performed well in qualifications at the 1980 Olympics, he finished tenth in the final. Paragi also placed ninth at the 1978 European Championships and secured a bronze medal at the 1979 Golden Event in Budapest. He won five national titles.
