Ferdo Godina was a Slovene writer and partisan, active during World War II against Hungarian occupation in Prekmurje. Born in 1912, he became a member of the partisans in 1941 and was known for his socially sensitive short stories and numerous works for children and young adults. His narrative often employed the first-person perspective. He won the Levstik Award in 1974 for his children's stories series 'Sezidala si bova hišico'. He passed away in Ljubljana in 1994. The Bistrica Cultural Society honors his legacy.
