He served as the first Chief of Protocol of Bangladesh from 1972, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1984 to 1986, and High Commissioner to India from 1986 to 1992. He played a significant role in shaping Bangladeshi diplomacy during its early years post-independence. Choudhury passed away on May 17, 2017, in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
